Catrin:  Catalogue of Transcriptional Regulatory Interactions

About Catrin

Catrin integrates data obtained from 15 independent resources, including transcription factors (TF) - target genes (TG) associations derived from Chromatine Immunoprecipitation (ChIP) high-throughput experiments, gene regulatory network inference algorithms and machine learning tools.

Catrin contains ~13.2 million unique TF-TG associations, involving 2,871 putative TFs and covering nearly 25 thousand TGs, providing greater coverage than other integrative resources of this type. All the entries in Catrin underwent standardization with respect to the recent nomenclature (HGNC, August 2017).

To express overall confidence of the given TF-TG association, each association was assigned an integrative score that was derived using statistical learning with respect to the acquired experimental evidence. As we showed, this integrative score provides more accurate prioritization of TF-TG associations than any of the individual resources we integrated.

Catrin allows programmatic access via API.
