| Two PDZ ( PSD 95 Discs large ZO 1 ) proteins , alpha 1 syntrophin and Lin 7 , were found to interact with ABCA 1 . ^^^ This effect is not common among PDZ containing proteins interacting with ABCA 1 , because Lin 7 , which was also found to interact with the C terminus region of ABCA 1 , did not have a significant effect on the half life of ABCA 1 . ^^^ |

| Although the exact mechanisms how ABC transporters mediate lipid transport are not completely resolved , recent evidence from several laboratories including ours suggests that vesicular transport processes involving different interactive proteins like beta 2 syntrophin , alpha 1 syntrophin , Lin 7 , and cdc 42 are critically involved in cellular lipid homeostasis controlled by ABCA 1 and ABCG 1 . ^^^ |
